I met Liv and her mum and her Nan two years before this absolutely sunning couples wedding took place, at West Mill in Derby. (I’m happy to say I met with them numerous times in between too, as we had a wonderful afternoon making flower crowns for Liv’s hen do!) Liv and Mark really are as lovely as their are beautiful. What kind, funny and generous couple they are….
Wow. Winter 2018/19. It has to go down on record as a stinker! It felt like the snow was here longer over this winter than I’ve ever known it before. Needless to say when Robyn and Tom booked their wedding at The Knockerdown cottages for mid March, little did the expect to welcome snow flurries along with the guest list!
Whistlewood is one of those places you’d never know was there unless someone told you about it. Located just off the Derbyshire Leicestershire border it’s an eco friendly permaculture, that has the capacity for hosting environmentally conscious weddings.
I’m guessing if you’ve landed here on our wedding flowers page you’re planning a pretty special day in the not to distant future? That’s so exciting and I’m pretty sure we’ll be a giddy as you when it comes to planning flowers for your big day – yay!

Creating all kinds of pretty for Field and Forest Weddings
You may have seen some of these beautiful images already, as we’ve been getting some wonderful coverage on social media, and I’m not really surprised! If you’ve never been to the Bluebell Woods at Yoxall (I hadn’t until this shoot) you won’t believe your eyes. It really is something quite spectacular. There is literally a carpet of bluebells are far as the eye can see in pretty much every direction.
So this last year we have been working really hard on our offer for our couples. We challenged ourselves to start creating something a little different, that’s where the #flowerslessordinary came from – our motivation to make things a little unexpected! So after a really busy summer we went on the road and attended some wonderful wedding shows so we could meet lots of excited couples and get to know them a little better. The first show was at The Roundhouse in Derby, which is a very gorgeous venue, full of quirks and original historical features. Even though it’s part of Derby College it hosts some truly amazing events and spectacular weddings! If you haven’t been, you should keep your eyes peeled for the next market on there – you won’t regret it.
Yeldersley Hall is a charming family home, sitting just off the beaten track in rural Derbyshire. It has so many wonderful features that make it a wonderful venue for intimate, classic weddings.
With exclusive use and on site accommodation, it’s a really special, relaxed weekend wedding site that everyone can enjoy. We’ve dressed Yeldersley on many occasions for some of our favourite couples and it’s always a treat to return. I was thrilled to be asked back to help flower their latest offer, ready to showcase to their future couples.
As the objective of the day was to introduce the newest area of Yeldersley Hall, the stables, to the public, we wanted to trigger the imagination as to how it could add an extra element to the day. Our Moon prop creates the perfect portrait opportunity against that exposed brick work don’t you think?
I am a big fan of rich colours for an autumnal wedding. While there is nothing more classic than white and green on a wedding day, my heart sings for bold colour mixes – especially pinks, reds, plums with a cheeky hit of peach!
