I just wanted to take this opportunity to share images of a very special, rainy summers day wedding here in Derbyshire.
If you’ve read the “about” page you may see some familiar faces? These pictures are from OUR wedding day and we wanted to take this chance to thank everyone who was involved in making this day so special.
So here is a beauty of a wedding at The West Mill – that was featured a few months ago in Perfect Wedding magazine for its fab details and use of colour – just perfect for a late winter wedding.
This lovely couple contacted me late last year to provide the most lovely cheery florals for their January wedding in the very picturesque Darley Abbey area of Derbyshire.
You will have probably seen on earlier posts that The West Mill is a wonderful venue full of quirky details and Kate and Rob really wanted to play this up! With the use of their lovely collected Golden Syrup tins, used as table centres and vintage bottles with colour pop blooms. The couple created a super cute light bulb installation to which I added in more flowers from their scheme.
Kate and her maids wore really pretty dresses, that were all high street finds, but boy did they ‘rock the look’, along with Rob sporting the very best in tweed and bow tie combos they really were a great looking bridal party.
I met Jane and Tommy at the Save the Date wedding event in Derby when they were in the initial planning stages of their Buxton based wedding, and I was thrilled when Jane confirmed I’d be their florist for the day! Jane was bursting with ideas and was keen to show me all her collections of curiosities that she wanted to incorporate into their big day.
Back in February 2016 some of my favourite wedding pros added their time and expertise to create this stunning selection of inspiration images at The West Mill, in Derbyshire. The Mill is a venue unlike any other, and we were keen to style this venue in a way that really showed off its style and atmosphere, in a shoot a that was just a little bit more Rock ‘n’ Roll. It was a full day shoot, and boy were we tired when we blew out the final candle but we were also thrilled with the outcome.
These high summer, country wedding celebrations were held at Lower Damgate Farm in Ilam, with the ceremony taking place just a few miles down the road at Beechenhill Farm. Suzy was the most charming and enthusiastic of brides and went all out, with her now husband Matt, to plan a fun filled day, for all her guests to enjoy. You can tell she’s a girl with style – just look at that car she arrived in!
Their choice of flowers included roses, scabious, stock along with mint, rosemary and oregano as well as other seasonal treats, and Matt wore a wonderful buttonhole of mixed herbs, wheat and berry.
The couple had lots of helpful friends who helped them DIY the decor so I helped by providing these super pretty personal flowers. It was a real joy to then see this wedding featured on Love My Dress on Christmas Eve eve!
