Two Years In The Making
I met Liv and her mum and her Nan two years before this absolutely sunning couples wedding took place, at West Mill in Derby. (I’m happy to say I met with them numerous times in between too, as we had a wonderful afternoon making flower crowns for Liv’s hen do!) Liv and Mark really are as lovely as their are beautiful. What kind, funny and generous couple they are….
Multi petalled and mixed colours
When I had that first meeting with Liv, she showed me a bouquet she had saved, and I was thrilled it was one of mine! She very much loved the mix of dark plum tones against the bold peach Romantic Antike roses and the many ruffles of the ranunculus. I have to say, this colour mix sone of my personal favourites, I think it looks so elegant yet still retains an air of whimsy! I created a special version of the bouquet she loved, as I always do my very best not to simply replicate a design, but to make it personal to the bride who is carrying it! We then made smaller versions for the bridesmaids. again a version of Liv’s bouquet but all a little different to make them personal to each lovely lady!
No rain here
The girls party all got ready at The Mill’s bridal prep room, then made their way to the local church in Darley Abbey Village, where Mark was looking superbly handsome, and waiting very patiently at alter. Rain had threatened a little, but I was thrilled it stayed away and turned into a beautiful day, just in time for the newly weds to take the short walk from church to venue. Props to Liv in her rather fabulous heels making light work of the downwards incline from church!
Creating Rhythm
When it came to table decor, we decided a few weeks before the wedding to mix up the table designs, and have a selection go high and low designs, rather than just all low. All with a scattering of tapers and votives to create ‘the mood’ (anyone remember The Little Mermaid?)
The over all vibes was relaxed but very elegant and I was really happy with the final look.
Honestly, could they be more perfect?
The whole day was captured by by the very lovely Matt Horan who manages to give all his images that extra special something. Just stunning.
