Planning one of her own…
I have known Dani and Jim some years now. It started as a professional friendship. We worked on lots of projects for Peaktipis / Wonderland Wedding Venues (where she still acts as top events manager!) Jim was one of the onsite Tipi team. We rubbed along well and found a nice friendship growing! It was utterly heart warming to be asked to be part of the day. Dani has helped some many folks breath life into their tipi weddings over the years. It felt a real honour to be included in her preferred team of makers and do-ers!
David and I were guests at the wedding this time. David doesn’t always deliver flowers in a shirt and trousers. I most certainly don’t have such a tidy manicure the day after wedding preps. It was great to be there from the start of the day. Just look at that glorious weather, not always the way for a September wedding. It was perfect for the outside hair and make up session with Claire from Claire Lowe MUA and Laura from LH Pro Hair. This was along side the Tinkers Bells glamping village they’d set up for the weekend – So much fun!
A colour lovers dream
Dani was really keen to add colour to the tipis over at The Hidden Hive. Over the years we’ve seen some lovely schemes in the tents, so Dani picked the best of it all and went for some colourful statement pieces and amazing glassware and chargers! She loved the idea of a bright hanging of flowers above the top table – that you would see as soon as you entered the tipi, and a lovely statement sit on moon.We also added in greenery hoops in each tipi peak! I love the tipis dressed this way.
The outdoor ceremony space was created with two flower towers, and this is where they exchanged vows. Personalised vows that were in equal measures cute, funny and very personal.
Living on a prayer
The Wedding breakfast was catered by the fab Black Peppermint and was great, but we noted there were some very distinctive waiters on the staff that day. Three really stood out as ‘distinctive’ characters… that was until they burst into a spirited rendition of ‘Livin’ on a prayer’ by Bon Jovi. Dani’s bosses had booked the amazing The Singing Waiters as a surprise and they were brilliant, a real crowd pleaser and a great gift – especially for rock music loving Jim!
Cake Cake Cake
After the crazy fun wedding breakfast we had maximum chill out time and had the chance to try some of the amazing cakes on offer, provided by Hannah from Bake. They were nom. As usual!
All in all we had the most excellent time, and we were so happy to share this special September day with such lovely people. Cheers Mr and Mrs Buxton.
