Excuse me while I indulge in blue a while…

It’s like rain, on your wedding day…

I just wanted to take this opportunity to share images of a very special, rainy summers day wedding here in Derbyshire.

If you’ve read the “about” page you may see some familiar faces? These pictures are from OUR wedding day and we wanted to take this chance to thank everyone who was involved in making this day so special.

High on a hill…

David and I married in a secret ceremony high above the busy little tourist spot of Matlock Bath at the overwhelmingly beautiful Swallow Barn, Masson Farm. The ceremony was small with only our little family, my parents and our two witnesses in attendance. I’ve created flowers for many weddings over the years at Masson Farm, and we love the wonderful lady host and her magical patch of this green and pleasant land, so we really couldn’t have done this anywhere else.

We followed our ceremony, by a quick stint in the games arcades and cafes in Matlock, before heading back home for our party – the guest all thought they were coming to celebrate our birthdays so it was surprises all round for everyone!

There were so many people who kindly added to our special day with their unique talents, and they all deserve their own little mention.

Rocking the frock

My amazing bespoke blue dress was handmade by the incredibly talented, warm, funny and couldn’t be more fabulous Lorraine at Lori G Bridal, which is also where Evie’s True Bride beauts dress was from. My head piece was by Sheena Holland, handcrafted rings by Glasswing and cufflinks by Tatty Devine. Beautiful Kiki from Air Hairdressing Ltd got up extra early to lovingly style our hair while Rebecca Shearer Make Up Artist worked wonders on my tired eyes with her make up skills.

Then later

Once we were back at home our party started in a lovely little marque provided by Will Top Marques and we were fed and watered by The Orange Food Box (best fish n chips ever!) and Lanza’s traditional ice cream bike. The crazy ass blue cake of my dreams was by the ever innovative Hannah from Bake Ashbourne. We were well entertained by Mango Acoustic Duo, and magic to keep us guessing was provided by Anthony Chan. Hannah at Yellowstone created a special family illustration portrait for our invites. Thanks also to my wing women Laurissa, Soraya and Penny, (and man) Andrew who helped set everything up and kept everything moving on the day! And Denise, we owe you forever…

But the biggest shout has to go out to the frankly awesome Ben and Hannah Appleby of HBA Photography who provided us with an amazing collection of images to help us remember this day until we’re grey and old! See here for their take on the day…
