Kirk Ireton and Tissington
I ruddy love a village church wedding!
I had the pleasure of chatting about Natalie’s wedding plans with her gorgeous mum Moira, before I actually met Nat and Mark. The couple currently reside in London town, and while they were in the process of getting the ball rolling I chatted a few essential through with Moira, and scheduled a meeting with Nat a few weeks later. Some things they were sure about, some they were till to decide. The no brainer part was that the ceremony would take place at the village church in Kirk Ireton – quite literally 30 steps from the family home (and really close to the local pub for the groom and his bonny men to visit to calm the nerves)…but the decision was a gorgeous Top Marques marque at the family home, or their semi permanent marque in the grounds of Tissington Hall?
Ticking The Boxes
After looking at the pros and cons of each site, they decided that the marque at Tissington would suit their plans for the day best, and meant we could begin moving forwards with the planning. Nat was always very clear that she wanted a ‘moody bouquet’, something lush and rich, not to large and sorting that smelt good. What she wasn’t sure on was the colour combination. It did mean we spent a few months exchanging ideas, but once The dress has been selected, and the bridesmaids gowns had been purchased, we came up with a scheme that I think worked beautifully. We also created two stunning flower towers either side of the church entrance and they looked superb – even better in real life! They created a great photo opportunity, and we were able to move them later on for the reception too!
Rustic glamour
While the church and Kirk Ireton has a wonderful countryside rustic charm about it, there was NO DOUBT that Natalie was going to bring the glam in her stunning dress and wonderful soft waved hair, starlet style!
After the ceremony (scented by oodles of Dyptyque candles – oh my!) the glamour continued as the couple left the village headed for Tissington in the most glam Rolls Royce car. It was a real head turner!
The couple entertained their guest through the drinks reception on arrival at the hall, and even though it was late September, it was an absolutely stunning day, which meant they were outside in the stunning gardens. Result!
Fine Dining
Next, the marque. Charlie and his Red Olive catering team never disappoint so it was great to see them again while we were setting up for the wedding breakfast.
Nat wanted mix of natural foliage high arrangements and rosey, pretty low compotes, with lots of candles and a feather on every place setting. Over the preceding months Natalie had learned calligraphy to use on her invitations and also her guest settings. She also hand made the sugar roses on the cake that lovely Moira had baked for the wedding too. (we also transported the flower towers from either side of the church entrance to frame the cake) It all looked so pretty, and very professional. She’s got skills that girl!
Picture Perfect
I think you’ll agree this was a pretty perfect kinda day, and Nat’s planning really paid off. Tissington provided so many beautiful photo opportunities for the amazing Olliver Photograpy, who kindly let us use their images here. I’ve had the pleasure of Natalie and Moira’s company since the big day and they popped along to Christmas workshop over at Yeldersley Hall in December. So lovely to make flower friends.
