Joie de vivre
There is no other way to think of this super cool couple than with a level of joy that is so infectious you might just burst!
I’m not ashamed to admit I fell for Kerry the moment she walked into the cafe to have our first consultation. She had all the things I LOVE going on… Stripey tee – check, Red Lipstick – check, Smiles and giggles – check and more enthusiasm for life than I think I’ve ever had the pleasure to come across before. She is an absolute doll face! Ali her most wonderful partner in crime is a little quieter but no less adorable and he had maximum hugs when he consult was done. These are my kind of people.
Colour is key
I kinda figure when you have stellar personalities you can pretty much wear any kind of wedding, and these guys certainly made the most of what is available in the flower world right now. It was a thrill to hear the couple describe the items they’d like and how they were happy for me to guide them as long as it fell with a certain style! This I truly believe is the way to always get the best from any of your suppliers – a little trust goes a very long way!
Kerry was keen for her bridesmaid to not carry bouquets and I’ve had a long standing love affair with flower hoops, so we decided that was most defiantly the way forwards! Ali was in the process of studies at University and botanicals was a huge part of this, so this was a key area for them too. Kerry was also keen for everyone to have florals for their hair, so we used fresh florals for the cutest little flowers crown, but decided to make keepsake pieces for everyone else from faux. They looked pretty cool, I think you’ll agree?
Church first
Even though the couple booked The West Mill, where you can have exclusive use for the full day, they were keen to marry in church, and selected St Mary’s church in Derby for the ceremony its self.
They then headed back to the Mill to let the celebrations commence. As you can see, the volume on the smiles was not turned down, and they continued to make the most of their gloriously special day, which was incidentally about the first day of this nonstop summer sunshine we’ve been enjoying this year. It so suited the tropical vibes to the decor with in the venue, which included elevated designs on copper stands, and table groupings of plants and flowers in an eclectic selection of pots, bottles and planters, and the couple enjoyed their wedding breakfast below the super funky tropical backdrop we created just for them!
These gorgeous people were captured throughout their day by the hugely inspiring The Crawleys…
